National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is Now – Be Proactive and Reduce the Chance of Tragedy

Breast augmentation surgeons like us are well aware of the hardship and suffering breast cancer inflicts on women across Florida – breast augmentation and other reconstructive procedures we offer at Accent Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics for women recovering from this terrible disease is one of the ways your loved one can fully recover, regain their confidence and move on with their life.

So in that spirit, we want to take a moment and recognize National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which happens every October.

Slightly over 180,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 – that’s your sister, mother, a friend or loved one of a friend. There’s a good chance you’ve seen one of the many ads flying about the airwaves recognizing this important effort to raise awareness and help find a cure for breast cancer.

One thing is for sure – early detection is the key to beating breast cancer!

A yearly screening mammogram and regular self-examination is the single biggest thing you can do for yourself and your loved ones to prevent tragedy…breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths for women between the ages of 15 and 54.

And get educated and raise awareness about this devastating cancer…there are many organizations providing resources and opportunities to do this, including:

Or just get a ribbon or “Save the Ta-Tas” t-shirt to begin a conversation with friends and coworkers. Education and awareness are the ways we can all contribute to beating breast cancer

Most importantly, be sure you and your loved ones get a mammogram (screening x-ray of the breasts)…86% of white women and 71% of black women diagnosed survive 5 years or longer).

And if you or a loved one had to undergo a mastectomy (breast removal) to beat breast cancer and in need of breast augmentation services in Florida, we invite you to see how Accent Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics can help you regain your confidence and your life.
